Uvalde Shooter's Dad Couldn't See His Son Because of COVID Safety Procedures, Radical Changes Were Noticed Much Too Late

Hatred of human life is rooted in moral depravity. Salvador Ramos, who gunned down 19 schoolchildren and two teachers in Uvalde, Texas, on Tuesday is a product of moral decay.

The shooter’s father, also named Salvador Ramos, would have you believe otherwise.

“I don’t want them calling him a monster … they don’t know nothing, man,” the elder Ramos told The Daily Beast.

Then elder Ramos said he did see changes in his son in recent months. His son had purchased a pair of boxing gloves and was testing them at a local park.

“I said, ‘Mijo, one day somebody’s going to kick your ass,’” Ramos recalled. “I started seeing different changes in him like that.”

If the father had been around more often, he might have seen troubling behavior in his son long before.

The father said he hadn’t been spending much time with his son due, in part, to the coronavirus pandemic. Because his own mother was suffering from cancer, the elder Ramos claimed he couldn’t risk being exposed to the virus. He said his son became irritated with the COVID precautions about a month earlier. That’s when the son stopped speaking to his father.

“My mom tells me he probably would have shot me too because he would always say I didn’t love him,” Ramos told The Daily Beast.

Ramos hadn’t seen his son since that time. Due to the fact he worked outside of Uvalde digging holes for utility poles, the elder Ramos wasn’t in town much to observe his son’s behavior, pandemic or not.

People who apparently were more familiar with the shooter than his father, former classmates, claimed the younger Ramos had been bullied in middle school for a speech impediment. Former co-workers claimed Ramos could be aggressive. Another former co-worker said he was inclined toward harassing women he worked with. Classmates also observed Ramos’ social life had been on a rapid decline.

The younger Ramos’ internet history, according to The Daily Beast, indicated that he was inclined to boast about mass bloodshed and guns. If the elder Ramos had known his son as well as his classmates, co-workers and internet companions did, would he have intervened?

We’ll never know.

The elder Ramos sports a substantial criminal record. It includes a conviction for assault and causing bodily injury to a family member. Ramos admitted he was also estranged from his daughter. She, too, was frustrated with him for not spending more time with the family.

Ramos blamed his son’s attitude on the boy’s mother, Adriana Reyes. He said the mother failed to buy her son sufficient school supplies and clothes and that the young Ramos was bullied at school because of it. According to Ramos, this was why his son dropped out of school.

There’s a pattern here. A pattern that’s all too familiar. It is the pattern of moral decay.

People are positing all kinds of remedies for the recent mass shootings in America. Stricter gun laws. Armed teachers. Armed guards. Closer monitoring for signs of trouble and deteriorating mental health.

Any one of these alone will not solve the problem. All of them together won’t either. The root cause of moral decay in America is the steady disintegration of the nuclear family and the banishment of God from public life.

The disintegration of the family is related to a leftist drive to push God out of public life. In 1962, for example, prayer was banished from public schools by the Supreme Court. More recently, a city council in Minnesota voted unanimously to get rid of the Pledge of Allegiance at meetings, according to CBS. Without prayer or the Pledge, it’s easy to forget that the U.S. is “One Nation Under God.”

When this happens, it’s too easy for states such as Illinois to allow “After School Satan Clubs” in public schools, as the Belleville News-Democrat reported on in January. At this point, the signs are all but ubiquitous.

Outside of government, Black Lives Matter has admitted, “We disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable,” according to Politifact. (BLM apparently removed that language in 2020, according to the Washington Examiner.)

It’s important to note that BLM was founded by avowed Marxists. Marxism would abolish both the family and organized religion in favor of a state-run collective society.

But without God, there can be no virtue, because the biblical virtues found in the Judeo-Christian tradition are a gift from God.

We are now witnessing the advanced stages of the cancer of moral decay stemming from the attack on family and God. Getting rid of guns won’t rid us of mass shootings. Neither will arming teachers with guns. Armed guards patrolling school hallways with guns might slow down cowardly shooters like Ramos, but they can do little to nothing to instill virtue in our children.

Guns aren’t the problem. A lack of virtue that gives rise to hatred for human life is.

Virtue is instilled first and foremost by parents. For that to happen, parents must be educated in virtues themselves so they can pass them down through the generations. Once upon a time American society was geared toward celebrating virtue and strengthening it in its citizens. Judeo-Christian values were the foundation of school curricula and laws, just as they are the foundation of the U.S. Constitution.

It’s high time parents start educating themselves and their children about virtue because the schools are no longer doing it.

The elder Ramos spoke out because doesn’t want people calling his son “a monster.” People are called monsters when they are morally depraved. The morally depraved have no sense of good and evil.

It is fair to characterize mass shooters who murder innocent children as monsters. The question is, “How was the monster made?” More often than not, the making of a monster starts at home.

The making of virtuous men and women starts at home too.

Op-Ed: Conservative Christians, Beware of Faux Lepers

$

Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s New Deal effectively appropriated the most potent attraction of Marxism for the Democratic Party: the perception of compassion.

Democrats care; this party responds to the needs of the poor, the sick and the oppressed.

From my earliest days as a Southern Baptist and a yellow dog Democrat, that connection between political party and perceived compassion flattered my conceits — until it didn’t.

In a 2019 paper, Robert F. Schwarzwalder debunked the oft-repeated assertion that Marxism is a Christian heresy. But no one has exposed the utter incompatibility between Christianity and Marxism so effectively as Paul Kengor did in his incomparable volume, “The Devil and Karl Marx.”

Marx loved the devil (some close to him thought he might actually be the devil) and hated all religion, especially Christianity.

But the view that Marxism is a Christian heresy is not without foundation. It turns upon the undeniable teaching of the Bible that God is the champion of the despised and marginalized and calls his children to imitate his merciful example. Progressive utopian movements from the Jacobins to the Bolsheviks to Mao’s Cultural Revolution to the contemporary social justice movement have traded on the potent Christianity-sourced social currency of perceived compassion.

Pre- and post-Marxist political appeal to compassion capitalizes on the words and acts of Jesus to conjure a mirage of compatibility with Christianity and stir the tender consciences of believers.

To those poised to execute a woman caught in adultery, Jesus said, “Let the one who is without sin cast the first stone” (John 8:7). When John the Baptist sought confirmation of Jesus’s messiahship, Jesus said, “Go and report to John what you have seen and heard: the blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, the poor have the gospel preached to them” (Luke 7:22).

Today it behooves Christians to ask, “Who are lepers in our time?” Who is deemed “unclean” among us? Whom might we fire or refuse to hire with impunity and be congratulated by the world? Whose voices are shouted down today? Who reflexively and fearfully self-censors their speech at work, school, play, even at home?

Lesbians? Gays? Bisexuals? Transgendered? Politically woke blacks? Woke whites? Clearly not. Indeed, the most powerful institutions in the land, including those lawfully armed with weapons, are publicly and actively committed to the defense and societal advance of these persons.

Lepers in Jesus’ day were required to live apart from society and to shout “Unclean!” for the protection of non-lepers who ventured near them. Icons of the party of compassion taught the nation to identify compassion-undeserving lepers in the land. Former President Barack Obama said they cling to their guns and religion. Hillary Clinton told us they are the “irredeemable” contents of a “basket of deplorables.”

The true lepers of our day are the un-woke, no matter their color, sex, sexual orientation or station in life.

Yet for the last seven years, elites who lead the largest and ostensibly most conservative evangelical denominations not only refuse to show compassion to these outcasts of society, but they have instead recoiled from them.

Where are the Southern Baptist Convention-sponsored panels dedicated to “hearing the stories” of the deplorables? Of conservative blacks smeared as Uncle Toms? The evangelical industrial complex follows the advice of its most influential leader, superstar pastor Timothy Keller, namely, to labor to be found winsome by the very blue communities that hold privilege and wield power to punish the un-woke at every opportunity.

Thus, former chief ethicist of the SBC Russell Moore sat down to “hear the story” not of un-woke black elected leaders within his own denomination, but of same sex-attracted Anglican Sam Allberry. The highest elected person of color in the SBC is the publicly un-woke first vice president, African-American Lee Brand. Accordingly, the current and former SBC presidents, Ed Litton and JD Greear, both white, pretend Brand does not exist.

Brand was not invited to a recent highly publicized “conversation on racial reconciliation.” SBC entity heads (all white men) scratched best-selling, un-woke black author and theological educator Voddie Bacuham from their list of “helpful” black voices when he refused to let the white men determine what he thinks about race, abortion and the LGBT movement.

Race and sex have roiled the SBC for three years. Pastor Bart Barber, establishment candidate for the SBC presidency to be determined in Anaheim next week, says he wants to “actually talk to people” about racial reconciliation, yet shows zero interest in hearing from the Bacuhams and the Brands within the denomination. One candidate for president calls for a change of direction in the SBC and has backed it up by platforming un-woke voices no matter the color of their skin — Florida pastor Tom Ascol.

The evangelical establishment refuses to champion the cause of those who are castigated as deplorables and Uncle Toms by the world and has joined in with the worldly punishers of these modern-day lepers. But why?

Chair of the 2021 SBC Resolutions Committee James Merritt offered the best clue to the answer at last year’s annual convention. In response to calls from the floor to condemn critical race theory as incompatible with the gospel of Jesus Christ, Merritt warned, “The world is watching.”

Establishment-class evangelicals fear the world. So they let the world set the terms of perceived compassion and leper status for them.

Woke Inc. dominates our culture and daily wields its formidable powers to punish the un-woke, especially conservative Christians. A squad-pleasing Democratic Party backed by massive media and corporate partners threatens any un-woke resistance in its way. Merritt is right — this world is watching to make sure Christian leaders comply with its compassion- and leper-identifying dictates.

The result is that evangelical elites heap more and more privilege and protection upon the faux lepers served up by the fearsome party of compassion while sticking it to the true outcasts — conservative un-woke Christians. They punch right and coddle left.

Will the SBC reverse itself next week in Anaheim and direct its compassion toward the true lepers in the land? Time will tell.

Pentagon Diversity Chief Pushes Book Calling 9/11 First Responders 'Menaces' on Children

Cultural Marxists have continued to be appointed to influential positions within our government under the disastrous Biden administration, specifically among our nation’s military.

Acolytes of neo-Marxist propaganda like “critical race theory” are openly attempting to repackage the classic Marxist “oppressor v. oppressed” class struggle with a racial wrapping paper.

Biden-appointed Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin was evasive last year when questioned with evidence regarding U.S. military academies requiring students to read and learn about critical race theory.

According to Washington Examiner, Austin said, “We’re not going to spend too much time debating the merits of this theory or any other theory. We’re going to stay focused on making sure that we create the right force to defend this country and promote our values.”

What the sitting defense secretary meant when he said “promote our values” certainly does not qualify as a denial that the racist theory is being taught to a new generation of cadets.

Another Biden-era “educator” making headlines in regard to the Pentagon’s educational programs is Kelisa Wing.

According to Fox News, “Kelisa Wing is a diversity, equity and inclusion chief at the Pentagon’s education wing — the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).”

Fox claimed that Wing has, on multiple occasions, actively promoted the book “Between the World and Me” which is a staunchly anti-police book authored by Ta-Nehisi Coates.

A supposed first-hand account from Coates specifically vilifies the 9/11 first responders who came to the aid of employees who suffered an attack while inside the Pentagon that fateful day.

In reference to the responders, Coates wrote, “They were not human to me. Black, white or whatever, they were menaces of nature; they were the fire, the comet, the storm, which could — with no justification — shatter my body.”

In addition to pushing troubling “literature” from deranged ingrates like Coates, Wing has also come under fire for a series of hateful tweets involving supposed verbal altercations with white people.

According to Fox News, Wing’s Twitter said, “… this lady actually had the CAUdacity to say that black people can be racist too… I had to stop the session and give Karen the BUSINESS…we are not the majority, we don’t have power.”

Fox also quoted Wing’s response to a user comment which said, “I am exhausted by 99 percent of the white men in education and 95 percent of the white women. Where can I get a break from white nonsense for a while?”

Wing responded, “If another Karen tells me about her feelings… I might lose it…”

She also posted a picture of herself to Twitter with the self-aggrandizing caption, “Just a masterpiece learning to master peace…I am tired but I stay woke.”

Wing’s self-incriminating tweets and her co-authoring of anti-white literature led to 22 House Republicans coming together to demand that Austin take “immediate action” to investigate her for “egregious bias” according to Fox News.

Given Austin’s refusal to denounce Marxist-inspired nonsense like CRT, it will be surprising if the secretary of defense will take these demands seriously.

Regardless of whether Wing will be asked to recuse herself for her undeniable prejudices, it is alarmingly clear that the U.S. military is being overrun with new-age radicals who only desire “equity” for those with the right skin color.

Socialist President Deposed and Arrested After People Realize What He's Trying to Do

The nation of Peru has been plunged into political crisis after socialist president Pedro Castillo was removed from office by the Peruvian Congress.

The Congress removed Castillo after he attempted to dissolve the legislative body and institute an emergency government; actions that have been labeled an attempted coup.

According to CNN, Wednesday was quite the momentous day in Peruvian politics, with Castillo being arrested and impeached by the Congress, and his successor, Dina Boularte installed as Peru’s new leader.

Boularte is Peru’s first female president and is the sixth president of the South American nation in under five years, in what has been a tumultuous and polarizing period for the country.

Castillo’s attempted power grab seems to be in response to a looming impeachment vote by Peruvian lawmakers, according to CNN.

The socialist president’s plan quickly backfired as many of his cabinet minister announced their resignations and the Peru armed Forces sided with the Congress, stating that Castillo’s actions were “infringement of the constitution.”

Boularte gave her views of Castillo’s radical takeover attempt after becoming president, calling it “a coup that aggravates the political and institutional crisis that Peruvian society will have to overcome with strict adherence to the law,” as reported by CNN.

Castillo won election to Peru’s top office in June 2021 by a narrow 50.14 percent of the vote, running on a platform that one Miami Herald columnist described as being “lifted from the Russian Revolution in 1917.”

Castillo’s goals while in office included threatening multi-national companies with nationalization if they did not hand over 80% of their profits to the Peruvian government.

He also promised to rewrite the constitution and better redistribute wealth.

Prior to being elected president, Castillo was a schoolteacher and union leader who leaned very heavily into Marxist ideology.

Despite his lofty promises, Castillo struggled to deal with Peru’s inflation problem and faced stiff opposition from the more conservative Congress, according to CNN.

Castillo faces charges of rebellion according to Peru’s Attorney General “for violating the constitutional order.”

“We condemn the breach of the constitutional order,” Peru’s Attorney General, Patricia Benavides, said in a statement.

“The Political Constitution of Peru enshrines the separation of powers and establishes that Peru is a democratic and sovereign republic … No authority can place itself above the Constitution and must comply with its constitutional mandates.”

As reported by CNN, Castillo has also been accused of corruption, and peddling influence with his family and allies, allegations he has vehemently denied.

With his political aspirations in tatters, Castillo has recently entered talks with the Mexican government to grant him asylum so as to escape his criminal charges in Peru.

Levin Identifies What's at the Heart of America's Political Division: It Goes Deeper Than People Think

$

Fox News host Mark Levin argued Sunday that the source of America’s division goes much deeper than most conservatives seem to understand or are willing to admit.

At the core of the problem has been the left’s success in gaining control over some of the main influencers of culture: education, media and entertainment.

Levin added that’s why leftists are coming so hard after two other major pillars: the church and the nuclear family.

“You’ve heard it said, and it’s correct, that the nation is terribly divided. But what you haven’t heard is anything beyond the superficial. Why are we divided? They’ll have you believe it’s because of [Donald] Trump or politics generally. It’s more than that,” he said on his program “Life, Liberty & Levin.”

“The reason this nation is so thoroughly divided is we’re divided along those who really believe in the founding principles of our country … and those who want to change the country into something that is, well, for many of us, horrific,” Levin added.

“That’s the battle that’s going on, and it goes well beyond politics; it goes right to the heart of the culture.”

Levin pointed to portions of Thomas Sowell’s 2010 book “Dismantling America” to elaborate on his point.

Sowell argued that the election of Barack Obama in 2008 — perhaps the most far-left president in U.S. history before Joe Biden — did not happen in a vacuum, but was decades in the making.

“What that means is that, even if we somehow manage to survive this man’s reckless economic policies at home and his potentially fatal foreign policy actions and inactions,” Sowell wrote at the time, “the gullibility and fecklessness of those voters who put him in the White House will still be there to be exploited by the next master of glib demagoguery and emotional images, who can lead us into another vortex of dangers, from which there is no guarantee that we will emerge as a free people or even as a viable society.”

Do you agree with Levin?

Levin argued that what Obama and the Democrats have been pushing for years is philosophical Marxism.

He noted that Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Budget Committee Chairman Bernie Sanders and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez never talk about property rights or individual liberty, but about class warfare and racial division.

Obama and Biden have often incorporated the language of class warfare, saying the wealthy must be made to pay their “fair share” of taxes, though they have paid the lion’s share of federal income tax revenue for decades.

The non-partisan Tax Foundation found in 2019 (the year with the most recent statistics available) that, with the tax rates that are still in place now, the top 10 percent of wage earners (those making approximately $155,000 or more per year) paid over 70 percent of all income tax revenues collected, while the bottom 50 percent (those making about $44,000 or less) paid just 3.1 percent.

Levin went on to point out that cultural Marxists have taken their fight to transform America right into the classroom.

“You see what’s happening in our classrooms. You see the destruction of real education. You see the effort to say that parents have no say in education, that bureaucrats — that union members — that they have as much right to control your children and their minds as parents do,” he warned.

Levin cited passages from “The Communist Manifesto,” in which author Karl Marx went after the nuclear family, writing, “On what foundation is the present family, the bourgeois family, based? On capital, on private gain. In its completely developed form, this family exists only among the bourgeoisie.”

“The bourgeois family will vanish as a matter of course when its complement vanishes, and both will vanish with the vanishing of capital.”

Marxism wants the values of the family replaced with a common social education.

“This is an intent to destroy the nuclear family because in order to indoctrinate your children as actors for the state, you’ve got to destroy the family. The greatest obstacles to advancing this so-called nirvana or paradise or utopia is the family and faith,” Levin said.

He argued that the Democrats’ recently passed “Respect for Marriage Act” is really misnamed.

“It should have been called the ‘War Upon Religion Act’ because the goal of the law — as demonstrated by Mike Lee’s amendment — the goal of that law is to prevent religious institutions — orthodox institutions, Christian institutions, Muslim institutions — from teaching their faith in various formats — hospitals, schools, think tanks and so forth — and to create federal crimes so the federal government can impose its will,” Levin said.

GOP Utah Sen. Mike Lee’s amendment, which was defeated, would have protected religious organizations and business owners who believe in traditional marriage from being placed in legal jeopardy by the provisions of the Respect for Marriage Act.

Levin contended the left’s effort to deconstruct American culture so it can be placed on a new foundation of Marxism is misguided.

“We’re a great nation that represents the unalienable rights of the individual, that rights come from God, that there is a natural law, a right and a wrong, a good and an evil, and that all our rights in the law don’t come from the present-day politicians and their supposed wisdom,” Levin said.

He observed that those Americans who support time-tested traditional values are “losing elections, and the media and the pollsters and the consultants and, yes, the Republican establishment are looking for easy answers.”

But Levin concluded, “They don’t understand the depths of the problem that we face today. They don’t want to address it, and their idea of successful politics is to meet halfway the party that is hell-bent on destroying our country.”

Watch: Donald Trump Calls Out George Soros After Violent Protests in Atlanta

Former President Donald Trump has called out George Soros in a scathing indictment of the forces behind the rioting that has tarnished Atlanta in recent days.

Last week, an activist at a long-running protest against a police training facility in nearby DeKalb County was accused of shooting a Georgia state trooper. The activist was killed in return fire. In response, protesters last Saturday torched a police vehicle in an act that resulted in the arrests of six people.

Fears for a return of violence is such that Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has issued an executive order to put 1,000 members of the Georgia National Guard on standby in case they are needed to keep order.

Trump says the protesters are “extremists” who “wanted to kill people.”

“As always, it’s hard-working, law-abiding citizens of all backgrounds who pay the price for this violent radical left extremism, sponsored by George Soros, it seems,” Trump said Friday in a video posted to his Truth Social platform and also published by multiple sources on YouTube.

Soros is a leftist oligarch known for handsomely funding progressive causes.

According to Law Enforcement Today, Soros was among those backing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. According to the New York Daily News, Willis this week said she is near a decision on whether to indict Trump for his interactions with Georgia officials following the 2020 presidential election.

Atlanta is in Fulton County.

Trump said the defiance and destruction in Atlanta has been aided and abetted by forces far beyond the city.

“The violent and vicious riots in Atlanta carried out by the anti-police radical left anarchists are an abomination, and it has to stop,” Trump said in the video.

“These extremists smashed windows, set fire to a police cruiser, destroyed businesses, laid waste to downtown Atlanta, and were even found carrying explosives. They wanted to kill people; they didn’t quite have that opportunity, but they would have and they wouldn’t have lost any sleep over it.”

Trump said efforts to punish the guilty will face strong headwinds from liberal prosecutors. Trump’s comments come on the heels of a report in the New York Post that said Soros spent about $40 million to elect prosecutors in 75 hand-picked locations across the nation.

“Unfortunately, nothing will happen to most of these rioters because of the Marxist prosecutors who have seized control of the justice system in Atlanta, just like they are in New York, just like they have in other places,” Trump said in the video.

Trump said stern measures are the only way to respond to violence.

“The rioters who attack our wonderful police officers and destroy so many lives must be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” he said.

Trump said that if he is elected president in 2024, “If Marxist prosecutors betray their oaths and refuse to protect our citizens, I will not hesitate to send in federal law enforcement to restore peace and public safety.”

Trump said Atlanta is not the only city where crime has seized control.

“Crime is up by 50, 60, 70 and 100 percent in these radical left Democrat cities,” he said.

“We will restore law and order in America.”

'No No No No': Radical Activist Angela Davis Dismayed to Learn Her Ancestors Owned Slaves, Arrived on Mayflower

Far-left activist Angela Davis found out through PBS she is a descendant of someone who came to America in 1620 on the Mayflower.

Not only that, but one of her relatives owned slaves in Georgia.

The former Black Panther did not take the news well – at least not initially.

Davis, 79, appeared on PBS’ “Finding Your Roots,” where host Henry Louis Gates Jr. unspooled her identity in front of the world.

In spite of her life fighting the legacy of “colonizers,” she was informed she is descended from one of the first non-natives to call America home — a man named William Brewster.

In a clip he shared on Twitter, Gates handed the proud Marxist a sheet of paper. It was a manifest of Mayflower passengers, which the host chipperly informed his guest contained a relative in Brewster.

She appeared as though her life had been turned upside-down.

“Any idea what you’re looking at?” Gates asked a puzzled Davis. “That is a list of passengers on the Mayflower.”

“No, I can’t believe this,” she said through nervous laughter. “No. My ancestors did not come here on the Mayflower.”

“You are descended from one of the 101 people who sailed on the Mayflower,” Gates insisted.

“No, no, no, no,” Davis protested. “No, no, no, no.”

“Oof. That’s a little too much to deal with right now,” she said.

Gates was adamant his research had not let him down.

“Did you ever in your wildest dreams think that you may have descended from people who laid the foundation for this country?” he asked her.

“Never, never, never, never,” she said.

It was as if a lifetime of radical activism and self-victimization had gone up in flames in a single moment.

How is someone who has dedicated her life to advocating for communism and black separatism supposed to digest the revelation she is a colonizer?

Davis has attached herself to The New York Times’ “1619 Project,” which attempts to reprogram intellectually vulnerable people into believing the United States was founded not by people seeking religious liberty but to preserve the institution of slavery.

On that note, Gates also informed Davis she is the descendant of a slave owner — a man named Stephen Darden who moved from New England following the American Revolution and settled in Georgia.

Darden owned at least six slaves, the host said. Some of his relatives later settled in Davis’ native state of Alabama — and the rest is history.

“I always imagined my ancestors as the people who were enslaved,” she said in response.

The information is inconvenient for someone such as Davis whose identity is based on the sole and misguided belief she has been victimized by a system created by people with whom it turns out she shares a genetic bond.

Davis concluded throughout her discussion with Gates that she was grateful to know the truth about her family’s complicated story.

She, of course, never owned slaves. But neither did any of the living descendants of Stephen Darden or other families that participated in the evils of slavery.

The United States is a vast country with a 400-plus-year history. It’s not exactly a surprise someone such as Davis was so easily connected to America’s first permanent residents – and people who went on to own human beings.

The country’s founding is much more nuanced than advocates for critical race theory would like to acknowledge.

Davis is proof of that.

White Americans are no more responsible for the actions of their ancestors than someone like Davis, whose blood relatives quite literally settled this country.

Shocking Video: Professor Holds Machete to Reporter's Neck, Also Cursed Out Pro-Life Activists

An art professor at Hunter College in Manhattan has been fired and is being investigated by the New York City Police Department after a shocking video of her holding a machete to a reporter’s neck and allegedly threatening to chop him up went viral.

“Hunter College strongly condemns the unacceptable actions of Shellyne Rodriguez and has taken immediate action,” school spokesman Vince Dimiceli told the New York Post on Tuesday.

“Rodriguez has been relieved of her duties at Hunter College effective immediately, and will not be returning to teach at the school,” Dimiceli said.

The incident unfolded Tuesday when Post reporter Reuven Fenton knocked on Rodriguez’s door to inquire about a video from earlier this month showing her harassing pro-life students at Hunter College and vandalizing their display table.

“Get the f*** away from my door, or I’m gonna chop you up with this machete!” she yelled from behind her closed door, according to the Post.

After opening the door, the unhinged leftist is seen on video holding a machete to the reporter’s throat while warning, “Get the f*** away from my door!”

The reporter and his photographer left immediately, but dashcam video captured Rodriguez chasing them into the street while wielding her machete, the Post reported.

“If I see you on this block one more f***ing time, you’re gonna –!” Rodriguez yelled, according to the Post. “Get the f*** off the block! Get the f*** out of here, yo!”

She also allegedly kicked the reporter in the shins as he got into his car.

Hunter College reacted by immediately firing the deranged art professor. The NYPD is also investigating the incident, which could result in criminal charges.

The Post staffers had approached Rodriguez on Tuesday to inquire about a May 2 video that captured the pro-abortion professor harassing and cursing at two pro-life students at Hunter College.

The footage was posted on Twitter by Students for Life.

“You’re not educating s***. This is f***ing propaganda!” she told the students sitting at a pro-life display table. “What are you going to do, like, anti-trans next?”

Rodriguez claimed their peaceful demonstration was “violent” and yelled at the male student, suggesting he’s not allowed to have an opinion on abortion “because you can’t even have a f***ing baby!”

WARNING: The following video contains vulgar language that some viewers will find offensive.

Predictably, Rodriguez is a race-baiting leftist who has described herself as a “black Marxist.”

In June 2020, she was arrested during a George Floyd demonstration in the Bronx. She later sued the NYPD, claiming officers had abused her during the arrest.

Rodriguez is the lead plaintiff in the lawsuit, which is scheduled to return to court in July, according to the Post.

Should the professor face criminal charges?

The fact that an unhinged leftist who bullied pro-life students and held a machete to a reporter’s throat was ever allowed to teach impressionable youth at a public college speaks volumes about the dismal state of education in America today.

Many of our children are no longer being taught in classrooms but instead are being brainwashed with toxic propaganda. While Shellyne Rodriguez was caught harassing conservative students and threatening free speech, imagine how many similar incidents are not captured on video.

This modern-day scourge of left-wing indoctrination through bullying and thuggery must be outed and stopped. It has gone far enough.

School Board That Recently Flipped Conservative Revokes 'Anti-Racism' Policy

A Missouri school board that recently flipped to a conservative majority rescinded an “anti-racism” resolution Thursday that was enacted in 2020 following the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis police custody, according to The Associated Press.

The Francis Howell School Board outside of St. Louis voted to revoke a resolution calling for “an equitable and anti-racist system” and to remove all copies and references to the policy from around school buildings, according to the AP.

The resolution was initially adopted in May 2020 when many school boards were putting an emphasis on anti-racism initiatives in curricula following Floyd’s death.

“I do not feel the school district needs a resolution against every evil in society that we are against, such as racism,” Randy Cook, Francis Howell School Board vice president, told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

“School boards in Missouri are tasked, by law, with addressing the needs of the school district by making all needful rules and regulations for the organization, grading and government in the school district,” Cook said.

“School board members are elected to do those things — not to spend time writing and debating resolutions about all of the problems in the world today,” he said.

In April 2022, Francis Howell Families, a political action committee, endorsed several candidates who were elected to the school board, flipping the majority conservative, the AP reported.

Ahead of the election, Francis Howell Families condemned the anti-racism resolution, saying it promoted tenets of critical race theory and Marxism.

“We will promote racial healing, especially for our Black and brown students and families,” the resolution said, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. “We will no longer be silent.

“We are committed to creating an equitable and anti-racist system that honors and elevates all, but one that also specifically acknowledges the challenges faced by our Black and brown students and families.”

CRT holds that America is fundamentally racist and teaches people to view every social interaction and person in terms of race. Its adherents pursue “antiracism” through the end of merit and the adoption of race-based policies.

There are no plans as of yet to adopt a resolution in place of the revoked anti-racism resolution, Cook told the DCNF.

School districts, parents and lawmakers are debating how to address race and equity issues within the classroom.

In February, it was revealed that a California school district enlisted a Black Lives Matter Task Force to help teach seventh-graders about the “daily effects of white privilege” and “implicit bias.”

That same month, several schools across the country celebrated national “Black Lives Matter at School” week, which emphasized “restorative justice” and “diversity and globalism.”

“In my opinion, the school board doesn’t need to be in the business of dividing the community,” Cook told the AP. “We just need to stick to the business of educating students here and stay out of the national politics.”

Biden Under Fire for 'Unlawful Cancellation' of Oil Leases as Prices Hit Highest Point of 2023

In July 2021, Aaron Lewis released his first solo of the year, “Am I the Only One?” Two weeks later, the song hit the top spot on the Billboard chart for Hot Country Songs, according to Loudwire. It also debuted in the Top 15 of the Hot 100.

In other words, it struck a nerve in the American people.

A little over two years later, the song still resonates:

Am I the only one here tonight
Shakin’ my head and thinkin’ somethin’ ain’t right
Is it just me? Am I losin’ my mind?
Am I standin’ on the edge of the end of time?

One thing has changed — I don’t think I’m the only one who believes the Biden administration is hellbent on destroying America.

In the latest move to undermine the country, President Joe Biden and his team announced Wednesday they will cancel oil leases in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge.

The move will block new drilling on millions of acres at a time when gas prices are at their highest level of the year and crude oil prices are surging, according to MarketWatch.

Why would the Biden administration make such a move? I’m not the only one who thinks it’s crazy.

“These decisions are illegal, reckless, defy all common sense, and are the latest signs of an incoherent energy policy from President Biden,” Alaska GOP Sen. Lisa Murkowski declared in a news release.

Murkowski is an on-again-off-again Republican who is often courted by Democrats for her vote. For her to sound off against the Biden administration is telling.

In the same news release, Dan Sullivan, Alaska’s other Republican senator, said, “Not only is this an affront to the rule of law, it’s also a grave injustice to the Inupiat people of the North Slope, especially the people of Kaktovik — the only village in ANWR.”

According to Politico, Sullivan told reporters on Capitol Hill that Biden officials “love to talk about racial equity, racial justice, environmental justice, taking care of people of color, but one big exception — the Indigenous people of Alaska. They screw ’em every time.”

Sullivan is spot-on except for one point. The Indigenous people of Alaska are not the only ones getting the shaft.

Progressives have made a concerted effort to appropriate the word “justice” in an effort to subvert its meaning. They claim the moral high ground while at the same time disdaining morality. For progressives, there is no justice and therefore no morality. There is only power.

Randy Ruaro, executive director of the Alaska Industrial Development and Export Authority, agrees. He attested in the Murkowski news release that the Biden administration’s cancellation of the leases was an “arbitrary disregard for Federal law, based on campaign trail rhetoric.”

In his statement on the move, Biden boasted that he has “delivered on the most ambitious climate and conservation agenda in our country’s history. But there is more to do, and my administration will continue to take bold action to meet the urgency of the climate crisis and to protect our lands and waters for generations to come.”

Interior Secretary Deb Haaland expressed similar sentiments in her statement. “With climate change warming the Arctic more than twice as fast as the rest of the planet, we must do everything within our control to meet the highest standards of care to protect this fragile ecosystem,” she said.

The president and his team are pandering to his radical leftist base — ideological globalists dreaming of world domination. When it comes to the environment, their motto is, “The sky is falling. The sky is falling” — thus the Alaska move.

In reality, progressives don’t care about anything but power. Their hypocrisy on the subject of Native Americans is there for all to see.

Charles Lampe, president of the Kaktovik Iñupiat Corporation, knows as much.

“It’s difficult to express our utter shock and disappointment of Secretary Haaland’s decision today,” Lampe said in the Murkowski news release. “We live in the Arctic! We are the Arctic!”

People who live on the land know the rhythms of nature better than any government official in Washington.

Lampe wasn’t finished. “And for you to tell us about our region in the name of climate change is outrageous!” he said. “For an Administration that touts its focus on working with Indigenous People from our perspective, it is doing the opposite.”

“We are a subsistence culture and are working hard to collect enough food to feed our community through whaling,” Lampe continued. “We don’t have the time or energy to address this action.”

In her Wednesday announcement, Haaland claimed the decision was based on “the best available science and in recognition of the Indigenous Knowledge of the original stewards of this area, to safeguard our public lands for future generations.”

Haaland is a Native American of the Pueblo Laguna who has apparently turned her back on indigenous peoples for political power.

She has bought into the politicized climate change rhetoric because that’s what the in-crowd in D.C. does. It’s that simple.

The need for oil is not going to go anywhere soon. Cutting U.S. production when fuel prices are at their highest in 2023 only serves to make Americans poorer and the country more dependent on foreign countries — including America’s enemies — for oil.

What’s more, the nation’s emergency oil stockpiles are at 40-year lows under the Biden administration, according to CNN. Nevertheless, in July, Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm claimed the administration will refill the depleted Strategic Petroleum Reserve if Biden gets a second term. Talk about campaign trail rhetoric. What a crock.

“Am I the only one not brainwashed?” Lewis sings. No, there are plenty of Americans who see what’s happening. The theme of his song, as I see it, is that no, you’re not alone if you think America is under attack from within.

The progressives, however, want you to feel alone if you don’t agree with them. They want you to think you’re crazy. They want you to be scared. Don’t allow them to manipulate you.

Globalism is inherently Marxist, and Marxism is the archenemy of the Constitution.

Marxism has no home here. If you believe that, you’re not alone. Resist.

Big-Time Lefty Actor John Cusack Slams Dem Party - 'Sold Out the Working Class for Decades'

$

Every once in a while, an affluent liberal accidentally stumbles onto the truth.

On Monday, actor John Cusack denounced Democrats, saying they have “sold out the working class for decades.”

That much rings true. Democrats have sold out the working class, though not in the way Cusack believes.

Cusack posted an angry screed on the X social media platform that made the correct point for the wrong reasons.

Like many wealthy liberals, the actor best known for films such as “Say Anything” (1989) and “Serendipity” (2001) has long posed as a friend of working people.

Cusack’s friendship, however, comes with conditions. In short, working people must accept that liberals who demand high taxes have only working people’s best interests in mind.

Thus, when the left-wing Jacobin published an article Sunday claiming that some Democrats, including former acting solicitor general Neal Katyal, oppose a wealth tax on people with enormous fortunes, he unleashed on Katyal and other Democratic Party elites.

“This is what liberals /neoliberals have never understood – or taken responsibility for – that they have played a major part in creating the precise conditions for fascism to flourish – Obama corporatist democrats – are to the right of Richard Nixon on domestic policy,” the actor said.

“Don’t believe me – look it up – and dems have sold out the working class for decades – and this kind of bought and paid- for betrayal of principals , fairness – historical precedent -any sense of moral or intellectual honesty,” Cusack said.

Note the attempt to distance himself from “liberals/neoliberals” while still parroting the liberal/neoliberal “fascism” narrative.

This became a running theme.

Democratic elites, Cusack insisted, “are all in bed with all the all the same big , big money power players.” This, he said, helps explain why former President Donald Trump’s “demagoguery works on people.”

Again, the actor got it partly correct. But again he could not help himself. He had to blame elitist Democrats for Trump’s “demagoguery.”

Cusack then turned his wrath against Katyal’s presumed opposition to a wealth tax on giant fortunes.

“Imagine arguing this – in these times. TOTAL insanity- or in another sense a totally corrupt rigging of the game for concentrated wealth- you are literally working to preserve the Koch brothers – musk gates besos -all the federalist society billionaires who bought the courts – to preserve and expand their plunder,” he wrote, referring to tech titans Elon Musk, Bill Gates and Jeff Bezos.

Still, the actor could not stay away from his favorite subject for long.

“Katyal is well and good outing trumps lawlessness and putting the fascists in their place legally – But seems like he’s working on achieving their greatest victory – so we find out he’s working on making it illegal to tax the wealthiest oligarchs in the history of earth?” Cusack wrote. “This – is ‘ let them eat cake ‘ hubris.”

Again, “trumps lawlessness” and “the fascists” loom large in the leftist’s screed.

WARNING: The following post contains vulgar language that some viewers may find offensive.

Cusack’s rage post showcased the precise phenomenon that has made modern politics so toxic. That phenomenon has a direct relationship to the things Cusack got right about the Democratic Party.

A brief and somewhat personalized history lesson might help illustrate my meaning.

When I entered graduate school many years ago, I encountered the so-called holy trinity of academia: In those days, nearly everyone in humanities and social sciences worked on race, class or gender.

Over time, however, I noticed changes. Job announcements no longer asked for specialists in labor history or Marxist theory. “Class” fell out of favor.

In hindsight, the reasons are obvious.

For one thing, 20th-century Marxist experiments had produced nothing but totalitarian misery.

Meanwhile, workers had always suspected that leftist elites merely used them as stepping stones to power. Working people learned to recognize affluent liberals who claimed to be their friends while secretly hating them.

Thus, affluent liberals discovered they could not rely on the working classes. So liberals dropped the old industrial proletariat and focused instead on race and gender.

Cusack simply did not get the message.

Apparently, the actor still thinks that working people view him as their champion. But he actually belongs to the very class of elites he claims to despise.

Though he does not know it, Cusack’s social media post demonstrates why working people have abandoned the Democratic Party.

In short, by using words and phrases such as “fascists” and “trumps lawlessness,” he endorsed the Democratic elites’ narrative.

Members of the entrenched and sprawling federal bureaucracy say those same things about Trump and his supporters.

For decades, money has flowed from the hinterlands into the capital. Now, those bureaucrats reside in the nation’s wealthiest counties and have turned Virginia blue. So much for helping the working class.

Proponents of open borders also regularly insult Trump and his supporters by calling them “racists.” Flooding the labor market with young men from other countries makes preening liberals feel morally superior, but it hardly helps the American working class.

When public figures articulate an idea or defend a value that working people share, agents of cancel culture and even government censors — Democratic Party allies all — attempt to silence them. Working people know that they have no meaningful voice.

Cusack hilariously believes that arguing for taxes on wealth makes him a friend to the working class. That train left the station sometime in the last century.

In truth, working people have learned from long experience that taxes merely enrich their true enemies.

Massive Pro-Palestinian Rally in US Theater Erupts in Cheers When Speaker Defends Hamas

At a pro-Palestinian rally in Dearborn, Michigan, on Tuesday, an energized audience inside a large theater cheered Hamas.

“We are not going to be intimidated by, stay silent when they say Hamas is a terrorist organization. The fact, it is not a terrorist organization,” one speaker said to wild applause.

When the cheers subsided, the same speaker continued.

“And we have to say to them the terrorist is Benjamin Netanyahu and his government,” the speaker added.

More cheers ensued.

“And not only Benjamin Netanyahu and his government, but everyone that stands behind them and support him killing people in Palestine,” the speaker said, again to applause.

Tuesday on X, formerly Twitter, independent journalist Brendan Gutenschwager posted a series of clips from inside the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center in Dearborn, Michigan.

Another clip from the theater balcony showed a panoramic view of hundreds of attendees waving Palestinian flags.

Again and again, they chanted “From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free,” along with “No justice, no peace!”

A second speaker then made reference to Hamas’ atrocities and what, in his view, provoked them.

“They said — the American government said — what happened last Saturday was unprovoked. We don’t want to be violent; we are not violent people. We are full of love,” he said.

“But when you have 75 years of ethnic cleansing, 56 years of occupation, 15 years of a blockade, that means nothing is unprovoked in Palestine.”

Then, the same supposedly peace-loving speaker further revealed his true colors.

“When you go to a Black Lives Matter rally, you see Palestinian flags. When you go to a white supremacy rally, you see Israeli flags,” he said.

Finally, the same speaker brought the rally to a rousing conclusion with more chants of “Free, free Palestine!”

Today on X, liberal journalist Brian Krassenstein predictably lectured people on how they should react to the rally.

“Americans need to realize that those who aren’t celebrating the terror attacks on Israel, but are speaking out in support of the innocent Palestinian people and innocent Palestinian children, who are put in harms way because of Hamas, are not bad people,” Krassenstein wrote.

He then noted that not everyone in Palestine supports Hamas. Finally, he insisted that those who gathered in Dearborn intended only peace.

“If these people are celebrating the terrorist attacks on Israel, then that’s one thing. If they are showing support for the peaceful people only looking to live normal lives in Palestinian territory, then that’s another. Please understand a difference,” Krassenstein wrote.

Jack Posobiec, senior editor at Human Events, had a different take.

“Gonna have to rename Dearborn as Little Hamas,” Posobiec posted.

Assessing these various comments requires us to remember that this past weekend Hamas terrorists carried out a Gestapo-like operation. They made no effort to conceal it. In fact, they slaughtered Jews and posted videos of it to social media.

Krassenstein insisted that the people who attended that Dearborn rally loved only peace and justice. On some level, no doubt many of them want those things.

The first speaker, however, denied that a Gestapo-like rampage even qualified Hamas as terrorists.

Then, the second speaker made vague references to preferring peace before rattling off a litany of historical grievances.

Finally, the second speaker acknowledged an ideological alliance with Black Lives Matter.

If Americans take nothing else from the speakers’ pro-Hamas comments, they should make careful note of the BLM connection.

To a decent human being, no amount of purported oppression justifies Gestapo-like atrocities. If a speaker cannot even acknowledge as much — if the speaker reverts to the sort of vague professions of peace in which Adolf Hitler always indulged right before he recited a list of German grievances and then invaded another country — then decent people must judge the speaker insincere in his professed love of peace and justice.

Oppression, where it exists, justifies resistance. It does not justify indiscriminate slaughter.

In the Marxist worldview, however, ends do justify means. The world divides, neatly and conveniently, into oppressors and oppressed.

BLM openly professes Marxism. It shares this view with Hamas and with everyone who regards Gestapo-like terror as excused, if not justified, by oppression.

The fact that this pro-Hamas rally occurred in Michigan only heightens our urgency.

Of course, it does not mean heightened fear or fear-mongering of any kind. Krassenstein was right about Palestinians who do not support Hamas. We must acknowledge them, pray for them and resist all efforts to rationalize or even perpetuate their suffering.

The urgency stems from BLM and Hamas supporters openly embracing Marxist excuses or justifications for violence against innocents. That ideological cancer has plagued the world for too long.

Large 'Queers for Palestine' Protest Hits NYC - Here's the Official Punishment for Homosexuality in Gaza

$

A “Queers for Palestine” protest in New York City on Monday featured confused, wannabe victims who showcased profound human folly.

Without a hint of irony, protesters held signs such as “Gays 4 Gaza Ceasefire Now” and “Queers For Liberated Palestine.”

Meanwhile, according to the London-based pro-LGBT group Human Dignity Trust, those same “gays” and “queers” could face up to 10 years in prison if they ever found their way to Gaza — assuming they were men.

“Palestine criminalises same-sex sexual activity between men,” Human Dignity Trust noted on its website.

“Sentences include a maximum penalty of ten years’ imprisonment. There is little evidence of the law being enforced in recent years, however LGBT people are regularly subjected to discrimination and violence.”

That minor detail did not deter New York City’s “Queers for Palestine” protesters. Nor did it prevent them from combining the objects of their protest in various nonsensical ways.

For instance, in a one-minute clip uploaded Monday to the social media platform X, a young black man declared that “Palestinian liberation IS black liberation.” If he ever explained what exactly that meant, the video did not show it.

Next, an older female bystander spoke to the camera operator.

“I know that a lot of these people have good hearts,” she said rather optimistically. “But they’re like, riding this wave that is not based on the facts of the history of the region. And it breaks my heart.”

As the woman spoke, protesters marched past. Each one wore the cloth mask of the COVID cult.

Finally, a group of people holding the “Queers for Liberated Palestine” sign began shouting a rhymed protest.

“Queer rights, trans rights, we say no to genocide!” they chanted through their cloth masks.

An X user using the name Brennan Stultz uploaded the clip.

“Queers For Palestine march today in NYC. This footage is from this evening and taken by me. Feel free to share. Side note, what a shame what we’ve all become. Peace to all!” Stultz tweeted.

WARNING: The following video contains language some readers might find offensive.

Stultz also posed a 16-second clip of the rally side-by-side with a still photo.

In this shorter clip, the same young black man who spoke of “black liberation” led the protesters in standard pro-Palestinian chants such as “Free, free Palestine!” and “Intifada Revolution!”

Such protests defy belief. In fact, the very notion of a sympathetic alliance between “Queers” and “Palestine” makes one wonder if the human capacity for self-delusion knows any bounds.

The traditional Muslim world, of course, has no tolerance for homosexual behavior.

Recall, for instance, former Iranian President Mamoud Ahmadinejad’s 2007 speech at Columbia University, wherein he denied Iranian homosexuals’ existence.

“In Iran, we don’t have homosexuals like in your country. We don’t have that in our country,” he said.

Meanwhile, in many cases, Muslims in the U.S. have openly resisted so-called LGBT “pride.” In at least one recent instance, Muslim and Christian parents united in opposition to so-called “pride” month.

One wonders, therefore, what could possibly induce LGBT protesters to think that Palestinians would reciprocate their support?

The most basic answer, of course, is in the very nature of leftist protest itself.

Whether marching for Palestine, Black Lives Matter, LGBT “rights” or whatever the cause du jour happens to be, leftists see the world through a dichotomous Marxist narrative that sorts all human beings into either an “oppressor” or an “oppressed” category.

In short, Marxism’s sheer simplicity appeals to confused minds for whom even the slightest nuance threatens the certitude they crave.

Thus, in addition to its head-scratching incongruities, the “Queers for Palestine” march has tragic elements. After all, to show solidarity with people who make no secret of hating you must involve deep psychological complexities.

Indeed, what would it take to unite with such people solely on the basis of a presumed shared “oppression”? One can only imagine how desperately a person must want to escape his or her own individual existence to even dream of finding unity on such grounds.

Video: Pro-Palestinian Protester Demands Boycott of Nike, Apparently Forgetting What She's Wearing

$
0
0

When not burning down the country, leftist protesters occasionally can provide a source of unintentional tragicomedy.

In a Wednesday post on the X social media platform, Addison Smith of Newsmax posted a side-by-side clip and close-up still photo of a pro-Palestinian protester using a bullhorn to call for boycotts against various major companies, including Nike.

Predictably, the close-up photo showed the confused young woman sporting a pair of Nike shoes.

“Anti-Israel protestor demands everyone boycott Nike for doing business in Israel. She’s wearing Nike Air Forces,” Smith said in the post.

The sad irony, in fact, runs even deeper.

While rattling off the names of companies targeted for boycott, the woman’s voice first broke as if from strain or the nerves of public speaking. Thereafter, however, she maintained a steady pace and volume.

“We call on you to boycott Starbucks, McDonald’s, Disney, Nestle, Coca-Cola,” she began, yelling out each name.

The irony came seconds later when, after naming five more companies, she raised her voice to yell “Nike!”

Whatever this poor young woman might think about the seriousness of her cause, we must hope that posterity, at least, will see through the present madness.

After all, by now these leftist protests have a lather-rinse-repeat quality about them. The protesters need only an oppressed group du jour — actual beliefs make no difference — in order to fill the streets.

How else, for instance, can we explain a recent “Queers for Palestine” rally in New York? Gaza’s Muslims, of course, have harsh penalties for “Queers.”

Likewise, how else can we explain Black Lives Matter’s affinity for Hamas? The former envisions global decolonization on racial grounds and openly espouses the doctrines of Karl Marx, while the latter pursues a Nazi agenda of eradicating Jews to make way for an ethnic state.

None of it makes sense. The underlying beliefs in both instances contradict one another.

In “The True Believer” (1951), author and amateur philosopher Eric Hoffer advanced one possible explanation for these inconsistencies among radicals.

Hoffer argued that ideology means little to the “true believer.” In fact, he suggested that a garden-variety Nazi could easily become a Marxist, or vice versa. But neither a Nazi nor a Marxist could embrace a stable, rational order dedicated to protecting individual rights.

Above all, the radical “true believer” craves what Hoffer called “united action and self-sacrifice.” Here we find the “tragic” part of the leftist tragicomedy.

That desire for “self-sacrifice” stems from deep dissatisfaction with one’s individual existence. Thus, in “united action” the “true believer” abandons the self and finds elusive meaning.

Christians, of course, understand self-sacrifice, for we are called to surrender our lives to God. Alas, leftist radicals surrender theirs to something else.

Hence the apparent interchangeability of leftist protests.

In short, what leftist protesters say and do makes little difference. What matters — to them, at least — is that they say and do those things as part of collective self-abnegation.

Perhaps this partly explains the inconsistencies, even if it does not render them any less glaring to others.

That happened to me recently. I got up, came to work here at The Western Journal, and when I got to my office, literally half of our readers had vanished. They were just gone. We had been nuked by Facebook, and it had happened almost instantly.

But it was even worse. Facebook hit us at the same time 90 percent of advertisers had essentially boycotted us. "Brutal" is a word I’ve used a lot lately.

The fight for the truth is brutal. The fight for America’s soul is brutal. What the government is doing to Jan. 6 detainees is brutal. What surgeons are doing to confused children is brutal.

It’s a fight we must win. But we can’t win without you.

Jordan Peterson Stuns Maher's Audience to Silence Explaining Why Dems Are About to Pay the Price

$
0
0

Appearing on the Nov. 10 episode of HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher,” Canadian psychologist and conservative public intellectual Jordan Peterson explained why the Democratic Party will soon reap the ugly harvest it has sown for decades.

In sum, Democrats have a Marxism problem. And they cannot seem to quit it or even acknowledge it. In fact, they have cultivated it through America’s irredeemably corrupt colleges and universities.

Now, the monster they created appears poised to devour them.

“Part of the reason that you see all this foolishness on university campuses, too, is because people have bought this idiot meta-Marxism, which is that the way to look at every social relationship that people ever have is through the lens of power,” Peterson said in a clip posted to the social media platform X on Nov. 11.

The psychologist’s comments came during a discussion that included Maher, Pamela Paul of The New York Times and Republican Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas.

At the core of historical Marxism lay 19th-century philosopher Karl Marx’s critique of industrial capitalism as fundamentally exploitative. According to this view, economic life divides neatly between oppressor capitalists and the oppressed working-class.

In the 20th century, of course, Marxist regimes invariably collapsed into totalitarianism.

This came about largely by design. Again and again, resentment-fueled intellectuals weaponized legitimate working-class grievances to smooth their own murderous paths to power. By century’s end, Western working classes had caught on to the game and rejected Marxist lies.

Marxists therefore abandoned the working class. Amplifying class-based grievances no longer served their interests, so Marxists instead pursued power by applying their simplistic and thus deceptive oppressor-oppressed narrative to matters of race, gender and other identity markers that serve only to divide people.

The key, of course, is that the “oppressed” are always good and the “oppressors” always bad. This keeps things simple and allows for maximum moral certitude without corresponding humility. One cannot imagine a stronger recipe for radicalization.

Peterson correctly observed this phenomenon in recent pro-Palestinian protests among young people who know nothing about Middle Eastern history.

“The leftists have already decided the Palestinians are the victims. And, as you [Paul] pointed out, if you’re a victim, then you’re morally righteous. And even more conveniently if you stand for the victim then you’re morally righteous regardless of what you do with your own life,” Peterson said.

Then, Peterson blamed Democrats for refusing to temper or even acknowledge their own party’s leftist radicalism.

“And one of the things the Democrats also have to pay the price for, I would say, is their absolute refusal to draw a line between the moderate Democrats and the extremists,” Peterson said.

Alas, Democratic leaders have lost the ability to recognize extremism on the left.

“I’ve talked to 40 senators and congressmen in the last five years. I asked them all the same question, including RFK. He wouldn’t answer either,” Peterson said.

The crucial question that Democrat-turned-Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and others failed to answer goes to the heart of the Democrats’ current plight: “When does the left go too far?”

Indeed, recent events suggest that it has.

“Well we certainly bloody well saw it the last month, didn’t we? Cause they got the ‘oppressor-oppress[ed]’ narrative a little mucked up, we might say,” Peterson remarked.

“The consequences of that are gonna unfold pretty brutally over the next few months,” he added.

Some reactions on social media echoed Peterson’s observations.

“He tells it like it is. The ‘moderate’ left is afraid of being cancelled by the far left,” one X user wrpte.

The Democratic Party does not achieve power by appealing to the better angels of our human nature. Instead, it thrives by stoking resentment. It divides people into groups and pits them against one another. In fact, it has done this for nearly two centuries.
